Bryna Lubin was actually the first wife of Daryl Hall. In order for Daryl to be able to marry Bryna, he had to join her religion. Their marriage was from 1969 to 1972. The union between the two did not produce any children. The reason for their divorce, was not disclosed to the public. Daryl’s son ”She’s Gone” was inspired by his divorce from Bryna. The song was one of the major hits of the group Tavares. The first recording session of “She’s Gone” take place on March 22, 1973 in New York City.  Later, April 30, 1973, the version we all know was recorded.

After the divorce, Daryl moved on to be in a long relationship with English author, Sara Allen. This is the ”Sara” who inspired Daryl’s song Sara Smile. They were in a relationship for more than 30 years, but were never married. The relationship ended in 2001 due to undisclosed reasons. The two continued to friends even after their relationship ended.
