Mark Chesnutt was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas by his father Bob Chesnutt and mother. His father, Bob was a musician who recorded singles on a Nashville record label in the 1960s and 1970s.
Because of his father’s musical background, he encouraged his son’s talent. Mark first performed at a bar, when he went there with his parents. He later quit high school to pursue his musical career, after convincing his father that he was going to work hard to succeed in music.
