Mehmet is a Turkish model, actor and producer. Mehmet started his acting career when he was seven years playing roles in a variety of commercials. When he was fourteen (14) he then made an appearance in Okan Uysaler’s Past Spring Mimoses alongside actors like Rutkay Aziz, Filiz Akın and Müşfik Kenter.

He is the second child of a family of Tatar descent. It is a Turkic ethnic subgroup. He was born to His mother, Sibel, who was a lecturer and his father, Teoman, who was an industrial engineer. His father graduated from the Middle East Technical University and worked in a number of different sectors. He has an elder sister named Zeynep Günsür Yüceil, who is a choreographer of modern ballet and is also a lecturer. Besides his native language Turkish, Mehemet can speak three other different languages. These languages include Italian, English and French. He is 1.78 m tall which is equivalent to 5 feet 8 inches and he weighs about 65 kg (143 lbs).

When he graduated from the Italian High School, he he enrolled in the Marmara University Communication Faculty and graduated with honors. Günsür was engaged in concerts with a music group and then ran a restaurant for four years. 

Mehmet used to be a barman, and then worked as model before finally becoming an actor worked first as a barman and then as a model before becoming an actor. After he debuted, he acted in various movies in different countries; Turkish, Italian, and some American films. He took his first professional acting lessons at the age of 25 although he was 21 years when he acted the movie he made a hit with which was called “Steam”.

The roles he is best known for are Şehzade Mustafa in the Turkish hit series Muhteşem Yüzyıl and the films O Şimdi Asker, Anlat İstanbul, and Hamam. H e auditioned for a role in the movie Hamam with the help of his friend. After the trial shot, he was accepted for the role and the film was directed by Ferzan Özpetek. After the film was a success he decided to switch to acting.
