Cab Calloway was the husband of Wenonah Conacher. Cab was a jazz singer and bandleader, popularly known for Minnie the Moocher. He was born December 25, 1907 and he died November 18, 1994. He was 86 years old at the time of his death. He was born in Rochester, New York in the United States of America. He was an American by nationality.

Cab Calloway was one of the most popular entertainer in the 1930s and 1940s. He had a gig at a club in Harlem called Cotton Club. He continued performing in the club as a bandleader of his band, Cab Calloway and his Orchestra.

During one of these performances, he had a major hit, ”Minnie the Moocher”, and sold over a million copies of the song. The song had a call-and-response chorus, “hi-de-hi-de-ho”, and this became Cab’s signature for the rest of his career.

His career was active from 1927 till his death in 1994. He suffered a stroke and this led to his death.
