Robin Francis Cavendish traveled to Kenya in Africa, where he became ill with polio and became paralysed from his neck back down. He was put on a respirator and later flew back to England. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors gave him few months to live, but he lived for long time and became one of the longest lived people to survive on a respirator.
He was an advocate for disabled people and a medical aid developer. He was known as one of the longest lived responaut.
